چکیده

This study was designed to elucidate the effects of arsenic (As) on morpho-behavior, growth development and molecular mechanisms a commercially important fish, rohu carp, Labeo rohita, in Bangladesh. Fish fry with an average weight 387.5 ± 169.25 mg length 3.35 0.37 cm were collected from local hatchery Mymensingh, Bangladesh acclimatized for week Department Fisheries, University Dhaka before starting exposure arsenic. Fishes exposed period 14 days three treatments NaAsO2, namely treatment 1(T1)—2.5 mg/L; 2 (T2)—15 3 (T3)—30 mg/L, along control (C)—0.0 replicates. These concentrations determined based LC50 value 96 h measured this experiment. revealed remarkable morphological abnormalities deformities arsenic-exposed carp. In fish 30 caudal fin erosion frequent deformity. There no significant difference RNA:DNA ratio among treatments. The overall decreased as concentration increased. T3 had statistically negative gain (?0.05 0.07 g), but other (T1 T2) gain. Different types histopathological changes observed gills intestines arsenic-treated fish. Necrosis severe damages found secondary lamellae at highest (30 mg/L). Epithelial lifting, irregular shape gill raker also primary same treatment. study, expression heat shock protein (HSP 60) metallothionein (MT) genes assessed by qPCR, these upregulated different compared controls. findings present suggest that pollution significantly morphology, behavior, growth, development, histopathology economically

DEVELOPMENT OF FISH FINGER FROM ROHU (Labeo rohita) AND ITS QUALITY EVALUATION DURING REFRIGERATED STORAGE CONDITION

Study was conducted to study the shelf life, proximate composition, biochemical, microbiological and organoleptic changes in fish finger prepared from minced meat of fish rohu (Labeo rohita) with suitable recipe. Prepared fish finger was stored in refrigerated condition at 4 0 C ± 1 0 C for 11 days. The yield rate of minced meat from the whole fish was 39.31 %. The moisture and protein content ...

Immunostimulatory effects of curcumin in fish, Labeo rohita (H.)

Curcumin, an orange-yellow phytochemical, hydrophobic and polyphenolic compound of turmeric (Curcuma longa Linn.), has been known to be a potent immunomodulatory agent in mice, horse, human and other higher vertebrates. In the present study, we have found its immunostimulatory properties in fish Labeo rohita (H.). Curcumin at low doses (15 and 1.5 μg) significantly (P<0.05) increased some non-s...

Shelf life of antibiotic treated rohu fish, Labeo rohita (Hamilton) under ice storage condition

The study was conducted to evaluate the effect of antibiotic on shelf life in rohu fish, Labeo rohita (Hamilton) under ice storage condition. Oxytetracycline (OTC), the most widely used antibiotic, was fed to rohu (average body weight 16.0 g) at the rate of 2 g/kg through fish diet for 5 days and their shelf life was determined in iced condition. Organoleptically, fish were found to be acceptab...

Identification of Deleterious Mutations in Myostatin Gene of Rohu Carp (Labeo rohita) Using Modeling and Molecular Dynamic Simulation Approaches.

The myostatin (MSTN) is a known negative growth regulator of skeletal muscle. The mutated myostatin showed a double-muscular phenotype having a positive significance for the farmed animals. Consequently, adequate information is not available in the teleosts, including farmed rohu carp, Labeo rohita. In the absence of experimental evidence, computational algorithms were utilized in predicting th...
